Risk Assessment Course on Agrochemicals – Rwanda

Risk assessment course on agrochemicals held in Kigali, Rwanda led by the East Africa Community (EAC) with support from USAID Kenya & East Africa, USDA via U of Missouri, and Crop Life Africa Middle East (HESI not directly involved):
  • Via Edward Chikwana (Corteva), RISK21 was introduced
  • Output from the training course (written report) noted the following in recommendations: “EAC Secretariat to mobilize resources and build the capacity of pesticide regulators in risk communication such as the application of ‘Risk Assessment in the 21st Century’ (RISK21) tool”
  • Follow-up ongoing to explore opportunities
